Koncept.
The Cultural House was built in 1957-1958 according to the design of architect Evžen Tošenovský, including a formal vestibule, thanks to which the construction along Ostravská street was comprehensively rehabilitated. By removing the soil and creating the ziggurat principle, the vestibule was designed to highlight the monumentality of the cultural building. He was an example of an ideology that not only did not respect man, but consciously raped him. The vestibule did not respect pedestrian links and divided the north-east and south-west parts of the park.
By removing the existing forecourt of the cultural center including a pair of vehicular roads and restoring the original shape of the terrain, we connected the north-eastern and south-western parts of the park. At the same time, we involved the cultural center more in the space, the life of the park. We use the views from the park and from the entrance area of KD to the historic core and the towers of the churches of St. John the Baptist and St. Markets.
